This is a statement we need to hear more of in the near future.

⚖️ “I advocate for other peoples. Of course I don’t eat meat and dairy. Animal agriculture is the world's biggest killer of indigenous land defenders."

Every film with a gun in it is a validation of the culture of armed defence. The NRA must love Hollywood.

Watching another film from the late 1980s and marvelling at how its portrayal of a US president - calm, authoritative, ethical - diverges so much from the reality of today.

Humans are so thoughtlessly giving…
Happy World Ocean Day!

The ocean is the heart of our life support system, without which we'd all be dead. It's taken up >90% of the heat from global warming and 25% of our CO₂ emissions. In return, we give it 11 million tonnes of plastic annually, which animals ingest and also become entangled in.
Oceans Awash in Plastic Waste
On a day that many might be headed to the beach, take a moment to consider some of the widespread impacts of all of that plastic, and the ongoing efforts to clean it up.

It was neither. It was two white Englishmen in their 30s.

A doctor has been serving one of Baltimore’s poorest neighborhoods for decades — and if his patients can’t pay, that’s OK with him.

So when he was diagnosed with cancer, his community rallied to raise $100,000 for his treatments.
For decades, a doctor refused to charge patients who couldn't pay. When he couldn't pay, his patients came to his aid.
When Dr. Michael Zollicoffer was diagnosed with two types of cancer, his patients started a crowdfunding campaign that raised more than $100,000.
