That satisfying feeling of closing loads of tabs because you've dealt with those things 🤌

I spent the last week dog-sitting for friends and it reminded me of two things.

1. How important it is to go outside every day.

2. Especially in autumn.

Lots to reflect on from this week's Justice Digital accessibility conference. Three key points for me:

1. We can't assume or decide how people will use our services, we need to hear the voices of disabled people then translate that into services.

New delivery manager has shamed me for always having giant mugs. Apparently this is a designer thing?! (I confess it is true in my case.)

Recent running views, to cleanse your timeline. Autumn in Manchester is really something this year 🧡

Thanks to Lloyds for this morning's Ada Lovelace Day breakfast! Lots to think about, I'll share my takeaways once I've tidied up my (many) notes. #ALD25

Thoughts I'm having as a UX designer watching "The Playlist", a Netflix drama about the creation of Spotify.

Did someone say October?

Idea to increase food bank donations in supermarkets: reminders beside relevant items e.g. tins, rather than just the donation point at the tills. Because when you've finished shopping, the chance of you going around the entire store again is zero percent.

Nearly screamed when Taylor mentioned the Plaza Athénée, where I recently celebrated a big birthday! The Life Of A Showgirl exceeding expectations for so many reasons. She's unstoppable.

7:55pm on an autumn Tuesday. All over the UK, kettles click on and packets of biscuits are opened. It's Bake Off time 💝

To think I once left a job because I wasn't busy enough 🫠🫠🫠

One of my favourite language shifts as a woman in STEM: "Thanks for catching that", instead of "Sorry I missed that".

Me, a millennial, sending bad news on Slack: "[Bad news] lol."

What a week. Though the dental hygienist said my teeth are "Great, well maintained". Finding joy.

Bonuses for "our technical teams"? Way to alienate every other skillset that's contributed to OpenAI's success.
Yesterday, Sam Altman told OpenAI researchers and engineers they’re getting “special one-time” bonuses due to “movement in the market” for AI talent. The bonuses will be worth millions for some.

“We very much intend to keep increasing comp”, wrote Altman in Slack. www.theverge.com/command-line...

If you're reading this, please look away from your screen and out of the window for the next 20 seconds. May as well do some box breathing while you're at it. You are welcome.

Also me: Treat time.

Bring back retro exercise classes, I say!

I've just done my first step aerobics class in literally about 12 years and OMG it's as fun as I remember. More please.

This photo is irrelevant other than to add: what a nice evening and view on the way home.

Was determined to hit a PB on today's run and this little roadblock had other ideas. Or maybe it was my good luck charm because I smashed it anyway 💪😎

I'm tired of London and Manchester being pitted against each other, like the geographical version of millennials and gen Z. Unfortunately a rage bait headline always works.
