Here's a nice mainstream recommendation for #BookSky. I love Percival Everett who was Booker shortlisted, and Richard Powers the same, but just started the winner, Orbital, by Samantha Harvey and it is sublime!

I think some people have the perception that environmentalists aren't doing enough to 'shift the dial'. From my perspective, I think the reality is it is proactively excluded from media, so you don't see it as much anymore (yes, even you lovely Guardian readers!) 1/11

A new plot to mine the unexplored deep ocean seabed is currently being foiled by some amazing activists in the Pacific.
Huge respect to them.
Hopefully we'll be able to study and learn about these ecosystems, rather than destroy them.
