Being 44 is laying awake in bed with your CPAP on for an extra 45 minutes to juice your stats because you only slept for 5 hours.

It's a culture thing. Everybody knows Davis has no idea what he's doing plus they've been cash-poor forever. Selling the team would be the best thing to happen because fresh eyes might actually get good people in the building. If not that, then draft only o-linemen in '26 cuz Jeanty has no chance.
In a historical sense, this is awful on countless levels. This is a Raiders team that absolutely belongs on a list of the most inferior in franchise history, writes Ed Graney.
Graney: This could be the worst Raiders team ever

This is the greatest crisis our nation faces. Can't somebody do something?!
They keep putting the Raiders on TV at nighttime and the so-called government does nothing about it.

It's starting to feel like I'm Liam Neeson from "Taken". I have a particular set of skills made only for my job. No other job, not even related, tangential or sorta like it. I can do exactly this job and this one only according to the # of application rejections I get monthly.

Most anyone is. Execs lose the plot on how to do nuts and bolts work once they become any kind of VP and from then on it's just about shareholders and keeping them happy.
it's not that i ever doubted that being a barista was a skilled position, but my year-long effort to try to produce a half-decent latte at home has convinced me that a good barista is easily more skilled than virtually every c-suite executive on the planet

If they looked at it like firearms then nothing would be done.
In Milwaukee, police will now be able to impound any vehicle driven recklessly.

City Alderman: “It’s a two-ton weapon. We should look at this the same way we look at firearms. Let’s get as many of them off the street as possible.”

Nah, our electorate is incredibly fucking stupid and love to elect Republicans to burn things down and give Democrats 4 years to rebuild things and when they can't, they bring back the arsonists

My favorite part of podcasts are the vibe switches.
Narrator: The firefighters looked into the burning hotel room and saw two naked female bodies lying on a blood-soaked bed. They were missing their heads and hands.

If the DSM superintendent was a born and raised American, all these people screaming for his head, would they be saying "well their heart was in the right place, who cares if they fudged their credentials"?

Keeping constituents safe? Your state just said big whoop to vaccines. You could do something about health care. You could do something about gun violence. That would be taking care of your constituents but instead you're heady to lead the charge toward fascism.
BASH: Should a public official like you be mining your constituents to rat out people?

REP. RANDY FINE: Absolutely

BASH: But the president talks about the need for free speech

FINE: This isn't free speech, saying Charlie should be killed

Nihilism all the time please. I hope @nihilist-arbys.bsky.social sees this.
One notable thing about this era is how painfully ill-equipped our society is to deal with basically anything at all.

I don't even think it suggests that we're due for like a civil war or something--we're too functionally disorganized to even do that. Just more chaos as things get worse and worse.
