A lot of you really need to sit down and think about how easily you believed a huge, obvious pack of lies about this, in the face of clear evidence to the contrary, just because you heard it repeated a lot and found it ideologically validating. Barely distinguishable from MAGA conspiracy nonsense.

"hating Charlie Kirk because Charlie Kirk was a loathsome bigot" is an extremely straightforward political motive

I spent the morning readinga deeply reported and revealing article in ProPublica about a cancer doctor in my state’s capital who had a few superlatives to his name…longest-lived stage 4 lung cancer patient in the world, most hours billed of any doctor, most morphine prescribed in 2017.

A Man on the Inside is the perfect show.

I don’t know how it would work exactly but they should have created a premium tier Wicked movie ticket that gave you access to a pro shot of the stage musical

As someone who has spent the past four years learning how to study elections (albeit local, not national), I can’t stress enough that immediate hot takes almost always just reflect the political bent of the hot-taker, not the actual facts.
Donald Trump is now (1) below 50% popular vote and (2) has a margin of popular vote victory roughly HALF of Hillary's victory in 2016. They believe the left has to lay down and shut up because of this "landslide" victory.

Wowzers! This is a remarkable accomplishment, after two decades of litigation, for @ccrjustice.bsky.social:

This is a personal attack on me
I'm gonna give Bluesky a try but so far it's still dominated by what I can best describe as "theater kid energy" or "the vibes of an RA trying to organize a dorm activity"

Joe Biden needs to stop texting me and start his pre-debate super drug regimen. Also why are we having a debate at the start of the summer when the election is 4 months away. Who is going to watch this whose mind will be changed?

sadly pulling a fire alarm with tears running down my face
I've read so many good, careful articles over the last few days cautioning people not to extrapolate too much from this election, so I look forward to everyone doing that anyway
Over in New York, George Latimer leads progressive Rep. Jamaal Bowman 54–46% with 29% of the estimated vote counted in the #NY16 Democratic primary. This was the most expensive congressional primary in history with $20M+ spent.

I miss when everyone had Facebook and you could use that fact to find mutual connections on other platforms. I want to use bsky more but with no way to find people who I might know who are on here it’s a pain.

At some point, we need to acknowledge that the word “responsibility” is not the same as the word “guilt,” and the question of who bears *responsibility* for something depends largely on who has the *power* to effect change.

America's higher ed system has to be one of its single greatest contributions to anything, ever, anywhere--and likely its greatest economic engine.

And these [all the expletives, in every language, over all of time] just want to burn it all down to the ground.

For the absolute worst of reasons.

You don't have to be a spy to be a foreign asset. A person can be a foreign asset just by being easily manipulated, such as how Elon Musk was easily manipulated to personally interfere with Ukraine's military operations.

like I'm just going to posit that if you are doing business with the pentagon and also seem to be making your own random judgement calls on how your products can be used in a war, that is bad for national security
