The #BBC made mistakes. However, it is an incredibly important organisation. It should be improved, not destroyed.

In the current media climate, we need more journalists, not fewer.

My GP has moved to Total Triage. You now have a monster form to fill in and wait up to 2 days for an appointment.

This is apparently an upgrade.

Ever wondered where all the Cheers title photos are from? I did. And I've gathered everything I can find into this post. That was fun.

Super pumped to go see the #denverbroncos at New York Jets this afternoon.

Last time I saw them, we were absolutely robbed at Wembley.

I learned more in @flash0ver.bsky.social 's async await presentation than I did in the rest of the two days of JetBrains #dotnet days 2025.

Many thanks

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in German, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

The Starmer government is REALLY running scared of this petition, now at 2.75 million, to the extent that it has responded 3 months early, in a transparent attempt to spike it.

So please, under no circumstances should you sign it and share it widely. Starmer & his boss McSweeney would not like it.
Petition: Do not introduce Digital ID cards
We demand that the UK Government immediately commits to not introducing a digital ID cards. There are reports that this is being looked at.

I spent the last three days working with a new client reviewing their #ElasticSearch set up and fixing their problematic queries. We managed to reduce the execution times under load by over 3000%!

Building £multi-billion data centres isn't "an investment in UK A.I.". If it was, that money would be going into education, research and start-ups. Instead, it's mostly going to go into construction, power generation and other infrastructure, and all for a technology that doesn't work.

Hopefully this means AWS will support STS versions in Lambda.
.NET STS releases are now supported for 2 years instead of 18 months starting with .NET 9 (the current STS). STS releases now go out-of-support on the same day as the previous LTS release. Upgrading to an STS release will no longer cause you to lose support!

Update: finally had a proper chat with my Chinese neighbours last night. I told them my favourite dish in the world is Xi'an biang biang noodles. My neighbour immediately says "come over to our house and I will make them for you." You don't need to tell me twice. Immigration rules
I live in one of the most multicultural areas of the UK and there is rarely a day where I'm not positively impacted by that - whether it's delicious food, really good local businesses or my incredibly kind neighbours. I'm not saying this as a political statement, more just a reality of my life.

Of all the things at risk, the loss of an objective reality is perhaps the most dangerous. The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. When truth leaves us, when we let it slip away, when it's ripped from our hands, we become vulnerable to the appetite of whatever monster screams the loudest
