“The Trump administration is set to freeze more than $100 million in federal grants that cover family planning services for low-income people.”

Famously, withholding healthcare is how you make people healthy.

Medicaid and Medicare cuts stand to further worsen access to maternity care.

Already, 1/3 of US counties are maternity care deserts. No access to birthing hospitals or OB providers.

A major concern given the already high rate of maternal mortality & poor outcomes.

For 38 years, PRAMS has collected critical data on maternal-child health with the goal to reduce infant morbidity and mortality. CDC has officially halted the 2024 PRAMS data collection for the participating 46 states and the future is uncertain.

Death and loss from AIDS is not yet confined to our history.
630,000 people died as a result of HIV infection in 2023.
We are still losing the potential contributions of people with HIV to the arts, as well as to science and local and national economies. Families and lovers are still left behind.

Keith Haring died of AIDS aged 31 on 16 Feb 1990.
One of his last works, Unfinished Painting, was deliberately incomplete, reflecting the devastating, unquantifiable loss to the arts due to AIDS.

In summer of 2022, I spent 2 weeks in rural Ghana, communities where vaccines & medications were subsidized by International orgs like USAID. Hard it fathom the repercussions these communities will face.

Critical clinical guidance should never be out of reach. ACOG is ensuring that members can access recently removed federal guidance by hosting key CDC resources on our website. Transparency and access to comprehensive guidance are fundamental to our collective success. bit.ly/3WKHQpf

The NIH Sexual & Gender Minority Research Office website has been taken down.

LGBTQ+ people are disproportionately subjected to violence, discrimination & stigma, affecting their health outcomes.

Ignoring these facts endangers us all.
