Don’t piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining man
"It is not chaotic, and the only one who thinks it's chaotic is someone who's being silly," said Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, on the rollout of the trade policy, to CBS News www.cbsnews.com/news/lutnick...
Lutnick says Trump's policies are "worth it" even if they lead to recession
The president's tariff announcements have rocked the stock markets and fueled concerns of an economic downturn.

Not a good move, especially for USEMB Beijing.
The Trump administration effectively shut down a global air quality monitoring program and U.S. embassies will no longer publish data on local pollution levels. In many places, it was the only reliable source of such information.
U.S. Embassies Halt Air Quality Monitoring Abroad
Since 2008, embassies and other diplomatic posts had been publishing data about local air quality. In many countries, it was the only reliable source of such information.

Trump's universal tariffs on Canada, Mexico, & China hit ~$1.35T of US imports starting tomorrow, ~42% of all goods brought into the US, including devastating impacts on energy, vehicle, & food supply chains. Prices for gas & groceries like tomatoes, beer, & cabbages would jump🧵

The suspension of U.S. assistance for Ukraine is a very unfortunate and significant development, but it may not have immediate impact. Ukraine is far less dependent on the U.S. for day to day battlefield needs in 2025, than it was in earlier periods of the war. 1/

I think Russian intelligence services cannot believe their good fortune at everything that is happening right now. This is a bonanza across the board. The vicious attack on Ukraine, nutters at the FBI, Gabbard at DNI, shredding of CI capabilities. A monumental tragedy for the West.
This is incredible. Knock yourself out, Russian intel services. “A person familiar with the matter …said analysts at the agency were verbally informed that they were not to follow or report on Russian threats, even though this had previously been a main focus for the agency.” Cc @ciaranm.bsky.social

Here's my pitch—how about, to support our Great Patriot Farmers, the government just buys US wheat, soy, etc directly. Now, we have to do something with all that food but we can't just sell it, so maybe we create an agency to distribute it to starving people around the world...
China has announced its tariff retaliation—15% tariffs on US chicken, wheat, corn & cotton, plus a 10% tariff on sorghum, soybeans, pork, beef, aquatic products, fruits, vegetables, & dairy products. China also added several US firms to unreliable entity/export control lists.

Rubio also said Russia could become a “permanent junior partner” to China in the same interview which is a reverse psychology move so obvious you kind of have to discount the rest of the stuff he said
That worked before because Moscow and Beijing had been at odds for more than a decade, had battled at the border, nuclear war between the two was quite possible, and because Beijing needed rescuing from domestic disaster.

None of those conditions exist today.

One reason why I think respectability is stupid is because it's often used as a mask. Such judgements are rarely about the clothes themselves, but more often about the bodies beneath them. To wit, no one raised an issue when Elon wore a graphic t-shirt and ball cap to meet the Trump cabinet.

I actually give trump pal and Fox host Jesse Watters a lot of credit here in the sense he honestly spelled out why it’s so dumb when Certain People, including “post-left” online guys, try to spin Trump’s mission here as anti-imperialist.
Watters: We run the world. This is America's world. He's our proxy. This ends when we say it ends. It doesn’t end when Zelenskyy—

Texas A&M is claiming it needs to ban drag shows from campus because they create a hostile environment for women on campus, and involve the mockery or objectification of women. It's one of the most laughable arguments I can imagine.
Texas A&M University System bans student drag shows because they might offend someone. Utter disregard for basic First Amendment rights.
