Saint Mungo is strongly associated with robins due to a legend where he miraculously brought a dead robin back to life. This story is a part of the four legends on the coat of arms of Glasgow, a city he founded, making him a patron saint of Glasgow.

The Willow Flycatcher can be seen in the center right of frame, body facing left, with their head turned back, looking right; on a thin salvia plant. From allaboutbirds.org., Willow Flycatchers are small, slender flycatchers, but they are one of the larger members of the Empidonax genus. They have a fairly long, thin tail and wings. The bill is broad. Like other flycatchers, they tend to perch upright. Willow Flycatchers are brownish olive overall with a slight yellow wash to the belly. They have 2 whitish wingbars and a white throat that contrasts with the brownish olive breast. The white eyering seen on most Empidonax flycatchers is very thin and nearly absent on Willow Flycatchers. See ALT in first photo. In Welsh mythology, the giant king is named Brân, a word that means "crow" or "raven". His name directly connects him to the raven and crow, reinforcing the bird's association with kingship in Celtic lore.
