Celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

We still have a long way to go and in many Western countries our rights are being eroded due to cut backs etc. Even though we are still fortunate to often have it better than disabled people in some other countries.

WIP Cancer self portrait number 14. Me being measured up for radiotherapy treatment. Today I have been mainly thinking I need to try to get organised for Christmas as I dont know how rough the radiotherapy is going to make me feel. From what I can gather these things are variable

My arms are on 4 supports which are red and black and positioned above my head. I have a white paper over my boobs and am wearing green. black and yellow tartan cropped trousers and green socks. My feet are propped up on a metalic stop block at the end of me. On either side of me, in line with my hands, are 2 electronics boards with the same measurements on both. Which I presume are the measurements for my treatment

WIP Cancer portrait no 14. Being measured up and scanned for radiotherapy at yesterday's apt on 27th November. Your arms are placed into supports as you have to stay in this position for approx 10 mins per radiotherapy treatment. Mine is starting on the 11th Of December

This weeks theme on #All4InclusionArtGroup run by the fabulous @disabled_life_2b_lived - the theme is to do some artwork regarding Movember and men's mental health. I chose to do my version of an Egon Schiele self portrait in which he has a moustache for Movember.
D My version of Egon Schiele self portrait, He has dark spiky hair, his head is tilted on one side and we are viewing him from above - he is looking up at us from underneath his eyebrows. I hav done his flesh in greens, tans and pinks. He is wearing a white top. His hand is across his chest with elongated fingers and his first finger is splayed out from the rest of his fingers which are all together and the end of his thumb is tucked in behind his first finger. He has very large eyes and looks quite fierce.

The spy is a woman with large eyes and wearing very 60s eye make up, red lipstick, she has a very high hair do to hide her martian head and part of her Human skin has come off, revealing her Martian skull type features beneath. the Martian next to her is a skull face with a very large, bulbous cranium and large ball like eyes with small orange irises and black pupils. He is green and wearing a purple, high curly collared outfit

ID Woman sat on the edge of a bed, you cant see the bed as Im using negative spaces in this, she has her arm wrapped round a head shape that isnt there with a longing distant look in her eyes. Across her leg is the shape of an arm that is also a negative space, so it looks like she is embraced with a man who is no longer there.

Completed Cancer Treatment No 13. Got apt tomorrow to see if they can go ahead with the radiotherapy or not and have the machine set up and CT scan, I think that is what this appointment is for. Getting a bit bored of having migraine and feeling nauseous!
ID ID have now painted in the main background in goldink, pattern in squares of yellow, gold ochre and black, white dots and small circles and squiggly lines. Pattern is Klimt influenced. Portrait of myself Im a white woman with poppy red hair wearing red lipstick and eyeliner, my pyjama top is blue with patterns of lilac crescent moons, gold and white stars and red hearts, Im holding a fan and fanning myself to combat a hot flush and I have flushed cheeks due to it too.

WIP Cancer Portrait No 13. Struggling with symptoms withdrawing from the hrt and starting the estrogen blocking medications. Been getting hot flushes, nausea (which Im not sure what thats caused by) and some of my joints feel a bit dodgy

WIP Partially painted cancer treatment portrait no 13

Today I have been to see my GP as regards meds, feeling nauseous and as recently discovered, my results from my bone density scan show that I have reduced bone density called osteopenia - which is a precursor to osteoperosis,

I have exaggerated the flush on my cheeks to express the hot flush more clearly. I am wearing my moon, stars and hearts pyjama top. which so far has not been painted and is a line drawing.

WIP Cancer portrait no 13. Interestingly I hadnt actually thought about the withdrawing from the hrt side of having breast cancer. Ive been on hrt patches for about 15 years so avoided menopause symptoms, but now Im getting them as a result from having to stop my hrt patches abruptly.

Completed Cancer portrait No 12 - Today I have been finishing painting this and resting - again today, I have quite severe nausea, I think maybe I should take my temperature to see if anything is going on. Feeling quite sick but enjoyed the painting.

WIP Cancer portrait No 12 - Resting and recovering with my cat Mango, Today I have been resting and watching Dexter on TV which is quite something with the sawing, drilling and chainsaw being used next door!! Unfortunately I again have a migraine and pretty severe nausea which I hate.

WIP line drawing of Cancer portrait no 12. This is from the day I had the appointment letting me know that my nodes were clear that were taken out at my operation along with the lump which was on the 21st of October, so now its a matter of resting and healing until I get my appointment for

Id Male life model - he is standing facing forward, head down and one leg bent at the knee and raised, with his foot resting on the wall, next to his straight leg. His arms are straight and by his sides. Hanging down in front of him are two red light fittings which are tuned on. One is covering his censored area for instagram and the other is over his right shoulder.
