somehow i don’t think vance is imagining the descendants of veterans of the US Colored Troops when he is speaking about people whose ancestors fought in the civil war
JD Vance is suggesting that neo-Nazis and the descendents of confederate soldiers have more claim to being part of this nation because they're white than immigrants who believe in the Declaration of Independence.

When I was at Cato, probably half of every intern class was convinced the only reason anyone wasn't a libertarian was because they hadn't read Rothbard. (And then maybe 10% felt the same way about Rand.)
my favourite type of person is the guy (you find them on both the right, center, and left) convinced that if only you read the right Theory(TM) you would subscribe to their ideology without question

I’m just laughing at your Cold War boomer insult, thinking it’s somehow incisive or cutting. Yes, tankie here! Marxist-Leninist. Stalin’s writing on the national question is essential for any library. Lenin, Stalin, Castro, Ho, Sankara, Mao, Habash, etc. Yes to all of these.
