I say this with complete earnestness: Analytics has ruined sports.
it's probably the correct strategy but it's kind of boring in the same way that playing moneyball sabermetrics was correct and also boring. I wish more people would admit that the fact that it's smart doesn't make you a dummy for wanting your sports to be fun.
