There is a very nostalgic coziness to end-of-year times when work slows down a bit and nights spent trimming down my yearly games backlog with a cozy blanket and some tea start to become more common. Now I just need some snow...

It's a little thing, but I REALLY like the 'resume party banter' tech that seems to be making the rounds in games lately. Not having to halt my progression through content for fear of missing a one-time-only dialogue drop is a small but really immersive assurance.

Deleting my Twitter is serving as a doozy of a realization on just how much doomscrolling I’ve been doing lately. It’s weird feeling disconnected. But I think the reprieve and relative isolation has been nice this week for obvious reasons.

Hit credits on Baldur's Gate 3. Really fantastic experience that shows what a CRPG format can do with a budget normally reserved for more popular genres. I hope that this lets more games of this kind come to the forefront - and introduces a new generation of fans to the genre.

Well, my “how good can I get at a fighting game in two months” personal challenge has come to a close. My goal was to win one round in pools at #EVO. Instead, I won 3 matches before getting knocked out! Very pleased with how this went. #StreetFighter6

It’s definitely time for new Nintendo hardware, but I’ll be pretty disappointed if the rumors of the new one being LCD only are true. I love the clarity and colors on my OLED switch.

I've definitely hit the 'I can't put it down' threshold with Octopath 2. The characters are engaging and unpredictable, I really enjoy how they specifically play off of each other (something sorely missing in 1), and the path action exploration continues to be super engaging.

I think Octopath Traveler 2 is my favorite soundtrack of the year and I don't think it's close.

I am so doomed when Baldur’s Gate 3 comes out. It’s wild to think that in a year with a new Zelda, a new Street Fighter, and a new final fantasy, there are MULTIPLE goty candidates still left for me to play.

Attempted to explain that harvest moon isn’t harvest moon but story of seasons is harvest moon to a friend. I’m pretty sure they now think I’m making both games up.

Bluesky feels like what I imagine Gordon Ramsey means when he describes dishes as “rustic.” I’m not sure what I mean by this.
