So a couple weeks ago our newest dispatcher collapsed one night and had major heart surgery. He was awake and joking the next day. Went home a couple days later.
He passed away today. He was 34 and a really great human. It's been an emotional afternoon/evening. 😔

When one of my regular customers called with 20 minutes left and asked how I was doing, I said I could hear the fireball calling from my car.
He LAUGHED and said "darlin, you are 100% like me" and eventually ended the call saying to have a great afternoon.

There's something to be said about how stressful sports finals are that, even when listening on the RADIO, I was still holding my head in my hands and *closing my eyes* even though I was watching nothing. 🙄

Took it for lunch and coworker asked what I was having.
