Alexandria James. Self-publishing between the ages of 9-18. Short story published in Parousia Magazine. Working on another short story. Now looking for an agent for future works.
Had a random dream about that Monsters vs. Aliens Halloween special and Susan was smushing the mutant pumpkins with her fist. Probably because I have a story where someone carves pumpkins with their nails.

@marchsoloway.bsky.social It says on the site that you're not looking for picture books but picture books is still on querytracker. Are you still looking for picture books or not? And if so, what kind of picture books do you like?

Seems like I got so mad at that Copy Cat game that I'm writing a story basically about how I wish it went. I do get inspired by media sometimes. Like me always wanting to write a story that gives me the same vibes as cowboy bebop or trigun or kid Icarus or SpongeBob or monsters vs aliens.

Me when I briefly lost my wallet. It's at County Market (Niemans). Yes I was like the girl on Nichijou that lost her wallet.

My family wants me to use AI for illustrations. I keep telling them it's disrespectful to the artists who work hard on illustrations. The only time I can understand the use of AI in writing is for grammer, facts, or if you're stuck but even so, I'd recommend just reading books or asking around.

Fun Fact: While I sometimes like to write in a range of ethnicities, some of my characters such as Kirsty in Even Angels Have Flaws and two future short stories I'm writing are left ethnically ambiguous so that everyone can project onto them.

The complaints about grammer on Junie b Jones are ridiculous. That's a 5 year old child. I would write Natila like that, but I know the publishing industry wouldn't like that so I just keep things simple but still making sense.

Sci fi and fantasy are the hardest genres to write but boy is it amazing when you come up with something cool.

It's getting a little easier to write picture books now, but man is it stressful to keep it under a certain word count. My PBs always end up being on the long side.

Can we get a story about an elderly person with autism or do I need to write a book about it at my young age?

Guess I'm going to have to watch Never Have I Ever and read You're Welcome Universe and Crying in the Bathroom for tips on how to write a Mexican-Indian-American character. I don't usually consume those kinds of media so...
