After the devastating Australian black summer bushfires, we went into the field, investigating bushfire risk factors for livestock. The result? The first systematic investigation of its kind which identified key risk areas and developed a comprehensive preparedness manual for producers. #WFED

Emergency animal disease management is critical to limit the spread of disease. Ausvet worked with Biosecurity Queensland to investigate carcass decomposition and the dynamics of virus survival.

As part of the 5 year “Rabies vaccination for the community” project, Ausvet provided 1200 pet dogs with QR codes for their collars in Đức Huệ District, Long An Province, linking them with our animal identification and registration system lirs.io to provide easy traceability of vaccinated animals

Ausvet's Edwina Leslie used one of her KIT days during her maternity leave to attend the Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases conference. Particularly of interest was the pandemic preparedness talk and the lessons learned from COVID.
