As a previously fit and healthy doctor, who, due to #LongCovid, now has to use assisted travel at the airport, because Boris Johnson‘s government let coronavirus rip (and I know there are MANY in my shoes), I find this ABSOLUTELY appalling. This situation is very much his f****** fault!!
A constant blazing terror that somewhere, somebody might be getting a free cheese sandwich. Or indeed brief use of a wheelchair.

At this time of year people like buying books about celebrities/notable people, so here are some of the ones that are mentioned in mine, pictured alongside the book in which they feature.

I'm no marketing genius, but I'll try anything at this point.

First time in my life I’ve slipped on an actual banana skin, this one here. I regained my balance so I didn’t fall over but there’s no doubt about it, it was a genuine slip 🏆

So here's a short thread in tribute to #MartinParr of my #BoringPostcards , which actually celebrate the quotidian prosaic bits of Britain. Here's the ones I have from his book .

Tea in the Bedsitter, Harold Gilman: I love this painting and visiting it regularly at Huddersfield art gallery as a teenager confirmed my hunch that art might be a really good thing. Me and my grandad even visited it in London when it was included in a big show there.
Thanks Hudds art gallery : )

A male rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) in winter plumage.

Ptarmigan is from Gaelic 'tarmachan' meaning "croaker". The p- was added when people mistakenly assumed it was a Greek word.

A bird forever warning people: "A werewolf!" (just in case of werewolves).

I decided to do this simply to entertain strangers. I don’t need to do it, I don’t intend for these images to be perfect or accurate (obviously I never visited inside a Mouse’s home). Just an antidote to misery & the gloom of short winter days, & a bit of inner kid playtime.
Because I simply don’t have enough to do.. I’m doing #WillowsChristmasAdvent
