I think what a lot of people really really don't understand is that at places with acceptance rates under ~10% there's ALWAYS going to be some luck involved.
Swarthmore could fill its next class with ONLY HS class presidents w/4.0+ GPA & 99th pctile SAT & there would still be thousands rejected.
