Note that spreading awareness is not mutually exclusive with other tasks here. You can take both paths at the same time. Telling people to avoid Arc Raiders and poor reviews.

I feel like devs and CEOs need to accept that a consequence of using gen AI is that a lot of people won’t like it. That’s just the case as it is and the risks you take
November 12, 2025 at 11:05 AM
By the way, you CAN actually hurt Arc Raiders. Just go onto steam and downvote and bad review.

The reason why it has crept up on board recently is because nexon likely spent a ton on advertisement. Its a bog standard extraction shooter. It gains players due to being on steam screen.

Or, to be exact, Arc raiders uses ai and is proud of it, unapologetically, which trends. Devs say "every game is made by ai now". If you want more aislop, feel free to play it, but its typical Nexon. We've seen what Nexon does to online games, it tracks and it'll suck soon.

Arc raiders' backers are full of conceit. This will not be a good game to enjoy for long. Recommended stay away.

Not to be the fun police but I do hope people know that Arc Raiders does use generative AI for voice acting, and by supporting the game you're letting higher-ups know that this is an okay practice.

They try to downplay this on the Steam store page by describing the AI usage as vaguely as possible.

Source familiar with MasterCard‘s internal workings: The company finds the censorship focus from consumers “profoundly irritating“ amid larger political issues — they want the controversy around paypros censorship to quietly disappear

The thing about paypros is this: These companies shouldn’t have the power to decide what you do with your money

They need to be reminded that, summer or fall, winter or spring, you care about this issue & will not stand for a major corpo censoring adults creating adult content for other adults

Backed by the Heritage Foundation and Big Tech, KOSA will force everyone to upload their ID to access the internet. In an age when Palantir has direct ties to ICE, where technofascists are in power and want to eliminate and censor everything, we CANNOT allow KOSA to pass.

It NEEDS mass pushback.
🚨‼️As of yesterday KOSA is at 64 cosponsors with @vanhollen.senate.gov + @kim.senate.gov - who claim to support LGTBQ+ rights but are clearly okay with supporting legislation that’ll censor us off the internet- newly signed on.

Also important to note that organizers from Chicago (and LA) are sharing their experiences, strategies and tactics with other cities.

For example - Columbus, Oh is now working on purchasing thousands of whistles and distributing rapid response info in preparation for bigger actions in the city.

It’s hard to convey just how much Chicagoans are mobilizing against ICE. Don’t want to downplay the harm, or make it seem like a fair fight. But in neighborhoods across this city, ICE is getting chased by people blowing whistles and shouting. People are running TOWARD ICE to protect their neighbors.

Seriously, we need to not wait and the things that get worse are counterbalanced by things we build to be better. The idea that it's all one big bubble ignores everything we can do in the small. Scale down to your block or zip code or city. That part can and will change for the better.

Thoughts:

(1) Google makes it very difficult to cover this topic. It will ding your site.
(2) Advertisers make it very difficult to cover this topic. They may demand their ads removed from a given article. Which means no money from your work
(3) Games journalists are VERY squeamish about sex.
In your personal opinion, why are so many games journalists allergic to the payment processor / adult content censorship issue impacting gaming?

Let’s get very 101 here. Why are so many games journalists ignoring this issue?

It's miserable to see Gamers* simply not care about genAI usage in Embark's games, because I genuinely think it's maybe the biggest act of "shooting yourself in the foot" you can do to your game's identity and cultural impact.
I genuinely wonder when people are gonna start voting with their wallets and stop rewarding companies for using AI, Arc Raiders using it for genAI voices is frankly disgusting and it blows my mind that some people will defend it, and now Arc Raiders is sitting at 3rd top selling on Steam
