Was hoping to add more to this but I've just got too many broadband projects in the works at the moment to dedicate anymore time to it. 7 hours so far. Looking forward to circling back next year and adding more. #astronomy #astrophotography #m45 #dso #space #spacethings #askar #zwo #fyp
Since I have insane comet envy, here's reposting of my shot of C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS) from last year. Hopefully I will get to image one of these current comets at the EOM. #comet #astrophotography #astronomy #spacethings #fyp

Been working for quite some time to get a shot like this one. Loads to luck and planning after an utter failure the previous night. Can finally check this off the list. Captured Cygnus over our holiday rental last night. #astrophotography #space #milkyway

I'm looking for help from the astrophotography community with help developing an accessibility script (in pixinsight) for users with color blindness/CVD. The script is designed to assist in visualizing gradients easier to help in processing. If you know anyone. I need testers. @me #astrophotography

Got a great start on this painting today, loved seeing so many people show up for a Friday of Space Art. Thank you so much. I’ll continue this one and get into the details, correct some shapes, and get this looking like it’s racing off the screen. Definitely needs some pew-pew bits too

Here is Earth's rotation realized in an unusual way: using a camera scanning the landscape of Tivoli, Namibia, Bartosz Wojczyński focused on the sky.

He created a timelapse spanning 24 h that has a focal point in the sky rather than on the ground.

#Astrophotography isn't just about gear. Patience and practice are your best tools. And don't forget to ask questions. Others have probably had the same problem you're having. You can learn more at http://astropotamus.com/learn

New image! Desperately tried to get to 100 hours broadband but I'm quickly running out of actual night skies here in the UK and the moon isn't helping. Think this is finished for this year! 85 hours BB and 45 hours NB. Description in the alt text. #astronomy #astrophotography #space #fyp #askar #zwo

I haven't posted much lately for a variety of reasons, some easily guessable.

If you'd like to take a break from the seriousness of it all, a reminder that I have a starter pack of wonderful space artists that I try to regularly update:)

@bsky.app please add translation as an option for reading others posts that may be made in something other than your native language. There are so many amazing posts made by the community I'm unable to read because I'm ignorant and only speak English. 😂

Very quick process of the Spaghetti Nebula mosaic. 4 panels so far....well 3 1/2. Think I am going to have push it from 6 panel to maybe12 and get a lot more data for each panel. Click to see the full image so far.

This is a new high resolution 3D model of the Mont Mercou outcrop in Gale crater, that I made during my recent internship at LPG Nantes. #planetsci 🧵

A seasonal classic—the Orion Nebula (M42)! ✨
Though often photographed, its extreme dynamic range makes it a real challenge to capture in detail and process properly. Thanks to great advice from the #astrophotography community, I managed to bring out this version !

Don't laugh. Light pollution is a big deal. It's not just #Astrophotography that sucks because of it. Imagine kids not being able to see the stars as they're growing up. How many of them will want to explore space as opposed to become programmers? www.bbc.com/news/science...
