Temple spot was in use in the 900s. Current single tower was built after 1200, in use well after the Empire.

Morning at Srah Srang Baray

This sunrise spot is the laterite docks in front of the Banteay Kdei. Aka 'A Citadel of Chambers', but also known as "Citadel of Monks' cells”.

Visit Banteay Kdei is a suitable activity after the sunrise.

Jeg har brukt MYE tid og energi på å kjefte på NRK. Som gammel bladfyk vet jeg inderlig godt hvordan journalister og redaksjoner får blindsoner og slagsider.

Men jeg vil gjerne si at jeg har mer tillit til NRK enn alle norske "alternative medier" til sammen. For de prøver ikke en gang.

The monkeys at Phnom Bros temple are very used to humans.

These banana-crazed pig-tailed macaques are also quite the personalities, for good and bad.

Apsara lady playing pin

Pin is a 1400 year old Cambodian harp instrument, a significant musical heritage.

The Pin is an arched harp, first found in engravings in Sambor Prey Kouk, the capital of Chenla, the last Khmer kingdom before the Empire of 802 CE.

Along the road to Tonlé Sap Lake from Siem Reap, rice fields, open farmland and wetland gives a splendid outlook.

These spots offer shade, fresh air, Khmer food and drinks - and hammocks.
