Fondly remembering the 10 Essential Public Health Services on behalf of the CDC from my disability hermitage.

I think I need to block out everything that's not anti-genocide, covid, or ME/CFS for now.
When are we going to stop saying "might" and "could" when it comes to climate change. An Inconvient Truth is calling and it wants its optimism back. It has been clear catastrophe is inevitable for a while, even if we stopped for good in 2020 instead of ramping up www.cnn.com/2025/10/13/c...

For my baby to be fully vaccinated for Covid in time for xmas like it's 2025 and not 2020, she needs shot 1/3 TODAY. But NO WHERE has it for a 6 mo. old thanks to RFK Jr., who is doing his best to increase his child murder bodycount and covid morbidity and mortality.

Why do I feel like a ceasefire is just another way to move people around to genocide them better...oh because that's what's been happening. Please let me be overly pessimistic and wrong.

I've been thinking a lot about how capitulation to fascism and anti-science views in the Biden admin has only led to more of those things, to devaststing outcomes in the Trump admin. There's a direct line from "just wash your hands" to gutting the CDC now, and it's been tragic since 2021/Omicron.

Well, thanks again to NJ, where I can get my baby vaccinated at a clinic even though we don't live there. PA sucks. @governor.pa.gov where are the covid vaccines for children, VFC or just at the pediatrician???
October 6, 2025 at 2:07 PM
I only lived in NJ for 4 years, but I'm constantly plotting to move back. Pa is only just livable in the largest metro area. The rest of it is...not. This is the stupidest article I've ever seen. Also, go Mamdani.

This is fucked up. And no, kids with private insurance can't necessarily access the covid vaccine either. Pharmacies won't under 18 months, and our ped. still didn't get a shipment either, so my unvaccinated 6 month old is left vulnerable to RFK's bloodlust. www.statnews.com/2025/09/30/c...

Two weeks after vaccine advisers approved new Covid recs, Kennedy still hasn’t given his approval, leaving states unable to order updated shots for low-income kids.

Where are the pediatric covid vaccines? My county's VFC program says the PA dept of PH hasn't gotten what they ordered yet. My ped. ordered weeks ago and still doesn't have them. Wtf is going on. Is Moderna not shipping them?

Sometimes I like to think that I don't have ME or fibro because I feel sort of maybe normal (thank you, oxytocin). Then I have some (vegan) wine and walk around for the following week feeling like I'm alseep, reversing the words I actually remember, and snapping at my loved ones.

Has anyone told the orange guy, Marty-anti-vax Makary, and the Harvard Dean of the school of public health about all that actual research that was already done that doesn't show a causal link between Tylenol and autism? It seems like that one guy should rate current research over mice models but 🤷‍♀️

Fun fact: J&J likes spin-off companies to protect them from lawsuits (see: talc, opiods, etc.), and it's still McNeil, which means they've got the big bucks (as if J&J would give those up; they might even sue idiots who threaten them).
September 23, 2025 at 1:18 AM
I never had a fever while pregnant with my daughter. If I had, I WOULD HAVE TAKEN SOME GODDAMN TYLENOL. Because fevers are actually bad, unlike Tylenol, and can't be "toughed out," as the idiots say.

I am breaking the "do not take more than 6 pills in a day" direction on the advil bottle a lot. But boatloads of ibuprfen and ice, the mastitis guidelines work.

Reminds me how a lot of those same influencers sold the lie that we could get out of the COVID pandemic by sacrificing vulnerable people.

We’re still in a pandemic, and we still have fascism. The jury’s out about our collective humanity.
A lot of political influencers within the Atlantic/NYT orbit are very, very eager to sell us on the lie that we can get out of fascism by sacrificing trans people.

They will beat that drum even louder as the right weaponizes this tragedy.

They are liars now & they will be liars in the coming days.

I liked this but am extremely conflicted about it. Walensky is one of those to blame for what ACIP is today.

At times, those of us who warned about this are blamed for it.

“If only you weren’t so polarizing.”
I wasted 5 years of my life trying to prevent this from happening. I blame medical establishment, organized medicine, & academic institutions that looked at us like we were crazy & never joined the fight.

Now if you’re under 65 & want to get a COVID vaccine, you have to read/hear that the vax can harm your immune system & cause viral persistence & harm to newborns.

The actual virus itself does all this, but that’s been repeatedly downplayed by both sides. Maybe doing that set the stage for this?
Final ACIP update for the Covid vaccine:

1) Covid vaccines for all ages will be based on individual decision-making (no recc).

2) 65+ can just go and get it.

3) 6 mos-65yr, vaccine informed consent will be required to be discussed prior to receipt with 6 points of mandated misinformation

Public health shouldn’t be centred around individual behaviour change. It should be focused on changing the wider commercial, social, environmental & ultimately political determinants of health. Behaviour change will naturally come when healthy behaviours are facilitated by those structural changes.

Kirk Milhoan is now describing as “telling” the fact that COVID19 vaccines are unpopular.

What it is “telling” us is that misinformation by people such as RFK Jr.’s ACIP is harming the public.

ACIP just reversed the VFC vote from MMRV yesterday, denying coverage to uninsured or underinsured children whose parents want to use MMRV.

Yes, yesterday’s result was strange. But this is not better. It’s also another indication that this committee doesn’t know what it’s doing.
