I am so pleased to share our newest publication in Limnology and Oceanography! We characterized the microbial community composition of sinking particles regulating the carbon flux in Fayetteville Green Lake, an early earth analogue environment.

Microbial biofilms can contribute to the deterioration of steel-reinforced concrete structures and significantly impact their service life. Kop et al. researched communities of nitrifiers living within these biofilms and their role in concrete degradation.
