There’s been some “advice” coming from some quarters for scientists not to focus on DEI-related funding cuts.

I wholly reject this concept.

Cutting programs designed to reduce science and healthcare disparities is as detrimental to science as anything else, both morally and functionally.

Pulse oximeters performed poorly in children with objectively brown or dark skin tone and, importantly, did not even meet FDA standards for *overall* accuracy even though only 4% of the study sample had dark skin tone. This reiterates our finding in a pilot study of adults showing that.... #MedSky
