I think a big part of the reason some people love bikes and other people hate bikes is this shared understanding that the bicycle itself is a symbol of rebellion and anti-establishment independence.

Great overview of NEC report. Greater coordination among Amtrak and commuter rrs can wring enormous efficiency out of the existing infrastructure. There are tradeoffs, but the estimated capital cost is significantly lower than other plans. @alonlevy.bsky.social and Devin Wilkins led this effort.
