Obstructive lung disease is characterised by a decreased FEV1/FVC ratio. The FVC may be preserved/normal but due to airway narrowing the air cannot be exhaled as quickly so the FEV1 is reduced

From 3 Nov 2025, the National Spirometry Register renewal fee will be reduced from £40 to £35, following ARTP’s transition to direct management of the register.
