My heart is with Californians. Devastating fires across urban areas impacting so many people, lives, animals and the environment. I know we don’t yet fully appreciate what has happened, particularly as the fires are still burning. From Australia, five years after Black Summer, we share the pain.

Just in case you haven’t had this book recommended - Tim Winton’s Juice is quite the read.

Imagination and story telling are key to understanding climate change and intergenerational impacts of our actions today. Thank you Tim for this book - will stay with me for a while.

So this year again I need to be careful of how much politics I engage with. Too much happening in my personal life - bandwidth is variable and emotional resilience reduced. How many of us go through this challenge - when we want to help make things better but simply can’t?

A politics of empathy and care - that’s what I hope for 2025.

Beautiful writing from Thomas Mayo again. Thank you.

Political polarisation adversely impacts on communities, resilience and health.

Australia is leading the world in other ways of doing federal politics - deep community engagement.

No reports, data, projections details or analysis to back it up.

But all *exactly* as I have foreseen....I'll explain in a very brief thread (i need sleep damn it)
