Driving back home on I-5 yesterday and was surprised to see such a valuable cargo without armed escort. I thought @brightoncap.bsky.social and I could plan a future "fast and furious"-style heist if egg prices keep climbing.

Came across this cartoon and it resonated with the enshittification episode on a few levels.
Today on Volts: I talk with the estimable Cory Doctorow about enshittification (the inevitable rot & customer exploitation of tech platforms) and how it might manifest in clean-energy tech, which will soon be running our vehicles and homes. Much to worry about!

Studies of this sort are difficult to design and results subject to all sorts of error. But I thought it would make @brightoncap.bsky.social happy, and my family loves and consumes a lot of great eggs from a few family friends' chickens. So I want to believe.

This works for biodiesel because the fatty acids are not altered during trans-esterification. And even then, it takes work. For RD/SAF, once hydrotreating has occurred, there is no "fingerprint" to assess feedstock, so potential for fraud is higher, imo.
