Archaeotherapy- integrating heritage, interbeing, Earth wisdom and psychology. Well-being, ancestral landscapes, heritage as healing. Deep ecology, where humans are integrated into embodied Earth systems.

It’s also weird that this month marks the 250th anniversary of the first shots of the American Revolution- a conflict largely caused by tarrifs (and aggravated by a dispute over the Canadian border)
It’s weird* that the president can just decide to put a huge tax on American businesses without congress even being a little bit involved.

* very unconstitutional

Disquieting, in that way when what you take as quiet, peaceful, suddenly speaks truth to power. #quakers #peace
The Quakers are a really important & authentic voice for humanitarian values, have been for over 300 years. Unless the police had credible evidence that the Meeting House had been infiltrated by terrorists, this should be treated as an attack against religious freedom & peaceful protest.

So is trickster really trickster or is it the hat that’s the trickster that is manipulating the person? #TheOneRing had that kind of meddling behaviour, as I recall. #trickster #FolkyFriday #psychology
Brazil's one-legged Saci gets all his trickster powers from his foul-smelling hat, which once taken, forces the trickster to do the bidding of the hat's holder. He will always try to get it back, so careful when you take his hat. #FolkyFriday

What do you find of yourself within the #WildWood ? When #silence descends and you are absorbed into the quiet? Who is there?
Our land has likely been covered in trees since the last Ice Age

The ghosts of our ancestors existence, living in and relying on it for food and shelter, are everywhere

Ancient Woodland is sacred earth

Ancient Woodland is more England than anything

#StandingStoneSaturday I went off all social media for a while for all kinds of healthy reasons, so I hadn’t shared equinox pictures of my dawn moment at the #BronzeAge burial circle behind my house. Numb fingered, I drummed slowly to the dawn, a rhythm I’d only minutes before dreamt #archaeotherapy

The pool at #Powfoot on the #Solway coast, constructed at the end of the Victorian era, locals used it for bathing. Powfoot was partially developed as a resort but was never completed. The pool isn’t maintained, but during the summer kids still paddle. And a heron hunts trapped fish.

Take a moment to look at the sky or a tree or a bird if you need a break. Hang in there.

I’m saying this to myself as much as to all of you.

The Indigenous People of North America have decided to go back to calling the Gulf of Mexico, “Chalchiuhtlicueyecatl”. It is what the Nahuatl People originally called it as it is the domain of the goddess Chalchiuhtlicue, who is assoc w/water bodies, including the Gulf of Mexico.

Scale armour from the Roman Fort at Carlisle (Luguvalium). The armour fragment was found in a building which used as a workshop; now part of the collections at Tullie House Museum in Carlisle. 📸 My own. #RomanFortThursday #RomanBritain #Archaeology

#standingstonesunday a random stone in a forgotten field somewhere in north Cumbria. It’s not got a name, not a tale to tell. Yet it’s there, silently standing, under Orion’s Belt. #cumbria #obodsky #neolithic #archaeotherapy

A stunning work. It has brightened the dull morning, staring and staring at this exquisite artwork.
Our gorgeous native Red Squirrels are a rare sight, with only a few isolated populations in England & Wales. I have never actually photographed one before so here's my drawing, I'll call it 'Smile'! 😊🧡

#light on reeds from the garden, ready to made St Bridget’s crosses

A blessed St Bridget’s day to you. Not to be confused with tomorrow’s Imbolc, they sit next to one another but are not the same. Bridget is healing, poetry, black smithing, liminal places, milk. Imbolc is ‘in the belly’: survival through winter, lambs, new life, Spring. And is far more ancient.
