Today we launch the My Heritage online exhibition with our friends at Photoworks, funded by the @HeritageFundUK

It's probably my favourite project I've been involved with lately as it was so great to tap into my creative side and explore #archaeology🏺 from a fresh perspective.

What makes something 'Heritage' or 'Archaeology' and who decides?

We’re thrilled to launch the My Heritage Online Exhibition, created with Photoworks and eight amazing young artists exploring identity, memory & place.

It's been a busy busy day at Chester House Estate exploring archaeology and wellbeing for this year's #FestivalOfArchaeology.

We had loads of fun and learnt a few things along the way. @dfrearson.bsky.social turned me into Building Detective 🕵️‍♀️ with her great activity.

Till next year....
Good morning from the #FestivalOfArchaeology team out at Chester House Estate for our #Archaeology Youth Day 🏺

We've got a full day of activities across the site. Orange Team have headed out to explore medieval tiles.....

Hahaha - absolutely! While at @brparchaeology.bsky.social last week, a student told me about a (somewhat) defleshed sheep skeleton in the woods. Naturally, as a zooarch, I led a procession of 6 students to recover what I could and teach all about how bones articulate with the more fleshy bits!! 🐑

I'm back again (sorry 😅)..... #AskAnArchaeologist Day! is still going strong.

I'd love to know where your interest in #archaeology might take you outside the UK. Mine includes jungles 🌿
Jo is back for another question! This time answering: If not UK archaeology, where would your favourite archaeology be from?

How about you? #AskAnArchaeologist

What got me into #archaeology? More from #AskAnArchaeologist Day! 🏺
Jo from our Youth Engagement team is up next to spill the beans on what made her become an archaeologist! 🏺✨

We found a dead woodcock on the roof of a City block, it had followed the Thames and got worn out according to RSPB 🙁 Our faunal specialist took it home to bury in his garden. #AskAnArchaeologist #FestivalOfArchaeology

Who would have guessed that the main theme emerging from this question was .... birds (alive and some not so alive 😅)

@archaeologyuk.bsky.social #AskAnArchaeologist Day!
It's #AskAnArchaeologist Day part of the @archaeologyuk.bsky.social #FestivalOfArchaeology.

My question is: what's the best/worst/weirdest thing you have come home with after a dig? 🤔

I'll start..... a volunteer bought me a cutting of a framberry plant. It's 7, survived a house move and a flood!
