Pieces of “sour grapes” and finger pointing of which critics have claimed is the purpose of the book are evident. However, the book goes way beyond those shallow criticisms. The author is an amazing woman whose message of unity and plans for the economy are truly missing in America today.

How Democracies Die is a great companion read to Madeline Albright’s Facism: A Warning. It is a sobering study in global politics as compared to the current political climate in the United States. I highly recommend this one as a must read.

It was great to visit the Menominee Nation and folks from Sun Bear Industries in celebration of National Clean Energy Week to learn about their work to expand solar on the reservation and their goals to achieve energy sovereignty by 2030.

Just finished the second installment of Without a Trace (1970 - 2016). The irony of the fact that a majority of the book was read on flights to and from Colorado does not escape me.

Just finished Rachel Madow’s Prequel, a must read for anyone concerned about the current state of American democracy and a great companion to her Ultra podcast series.

Probably an old one but I just heard it for the first time. Having taught English in a former life, it resonated positively with me:

The past, the present, and the future walked into a bar . . .

it was tense!!!

Just finished Blood Gun Money: How America Arms Gangs and Cartels. A worthwhile read. 70% of identifiable weapons used in crimes south of the border, regardless of the country of manufacture, have flowed through the U S.

Today's jobs report shows what many Americans already knew: despite record highs in the stock market, the “economy” is not working for ordinary people.

Rather than accept reality & try to address it, Trump chooses to fire the bearers of bad news.

This is what authoritarians do.
Breaking News: President Trump moved to fire the official in charge of jobs data, claiming, without evidence, that labor numbers were being “manipulated.”

Is weaponizing the justice system, deteriorating the three-branch system of “checks and balances”, and creating an authoritarian system of government part of the current administration’s immigration strategy - to make the US look more like the counties from which many immigrants are seeking escape?

I recently reread Influencer, The Power to Change Anything. It’s a great book on leadership and also has “self help” implications. I had forgotten how well written the book is with a smooth flow, interesting research, and fascinating case studies.

A Tennessee woman was denied prenatal care by her doctor because she is "unwed."

Let's be clear: the Republican agenda is not pro-life or pro-family.

If it were, pregnant women wouldn't be forced to flee their home states to get basic prenatal care.
