Yesterday's post on Substack, where I talk about the inequity embedded into the Substack and Patreon model at a time when Black women are being silenced.

The uncomfortable reality is that resources matter, and in these divided United States of America, access to resources has never been equal.

Do you love alpine plants, ancient DNA, and/or population genetics? My lab will be hiring a postdoc soon to be based at the University of Maine! We’re looking for someone who uses genetic tools and thinks like a community ecologist. Happy to chat at #ESA2025 if you’re interested.

Imagine thinking “Don’t vote for a corrupt, serial sexual predator that killed seniors and took money to cover it up, for Mayor,” is some radical or inconvenient take within the Democratic Party.

NSF funding allocations to divisions get adjusted based on numbers of proposals; if we opt out of submitting proposals because of threats of cuts, it can cause future years budgets to divert money out of our divisions.

In the discussion about yesterday's events, let us not forget why Sen Padilla was trying to interrupt Noem's comments. The LA and CA leadership talks about here were duly elected.
On 6/12, DHS Sec’y Kristi Noem said “We are staying here to liberate [LA] from the socialists and the burdensome leadership this governor and mayor have placed on this country and this city.” This use of military force to displace a democratically elected is the very definition of a coup.

Do you have an XRF? Do you have a way to generate a bill I can give you a credit card for by tomorrow??? I had lab number two suddenly not able to run my samples and my grant access runs out tomorrow night.

Inspired by Cory Booker? Live in Wisconsin? Want to do something about *gestures at everything* but not registered to vote? You can register and vote today! There's still time. The polls are open until 8:00 pm, and if you're registered and in line by that time, stay in line and vote.
REMINDER: Wisconsin has same-day voter registration.

So, if you haven’t registered or recently moved or anything like that, you can register at your polling place (with ID and proof of residence) TODAY.

Every state should do this. It’s great that Wisconsin does this. Go vote.
