Reminder: Kristin Beck, a retired transgender U.S. Navy SEAL, served for 20 years as part of SEAL Team Six, one of the most elite units in the military. During her service, Beck earned a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star, among other honors, for her courage and dedication in combat operations.

One of the most important things you can do today is your science. Knowing calculus/physics/genetics/chemistry etc. makes you rare and the world will need you to rebuild tomorrow. Practice your skills and pass them on. Keep the flame alive.

California bay trees/Umbellularia californica are evergreen but they drop some leaves and fruit as the season progresses. The leaves have a wonderful scent and make the whole forest smell spicy. Those chemicals are part of what makes being in nature so good for us.
