Looking back, seeing those moments when we could have chosen a better way. The Berlin wall fell. But we didn't support Russia as it shed its past. Left it for the oligarchs and a new generation of despots to pick up the pieces.
Carter put solar panels on the White House, and Reagan removed them.

Excellent column!

I’m encountering more and more flat earthers, vaccine skeptics, climate change deniers, and it’s refreshing to read a robust, engaging column refuting it.

I had no idea Pittsburgh has been such an incubator for brilliance!
I already had a vast shortage of respect for Kim Kardashian, but her claiming the moon landing was faked has erased it all. Only the most willfully ignorant sectors of society adopt this disrespectful conspiracy theory. She can rot. Please read my column: www.pittsburghmagazine.com/anti-science...
Are Anti-Science Conspiracy Theories Anti-Pittsburgh?
Columnist Virginia Montanez explores the scientific breakthroughs that Pittsburgh and Pittsburghers have given the world.

Responding to post from @michaelsfuhrer.bsky.social. It might take a few days.

@michaelsfuhrer.bsky.social other people post our Forecast on my account for me, and I'm not on social media anymore.

If I'd seen these threads earlier I could have helped make your review a bit more accurate.
Last time I covered the dashboard from Covid-19 Resources Canada (which I’ll call CRC).

I pointed out some truly mind-blowing estimates on excess deaths here:

bsky.app/profile/mich...

(The last graph of deaths tells a pretty extraordinary story: CRC is estimating 200 deaths per week in Quebec resulting from Covid-19, about 14% of the typical 1,400 all-cause weekly deaths in Quebec. I will need another thread later to look into this!)

I've already expressed my disgust at the spectacle that the CBC chose to cover today. Whoever made the decision to cover the CK memorial service should be shown the door.

From the "Please choose the best option" drop down menu pick "content" & don't hold back!

World Car Free Day is coming up in 3 weeks on Sunday, September 21st. Last year I bugged @hfxgov.bsky.social (on twitter) about doing something to promote it. I’m going to email them a reminder, but first any Halisky folks have any good ideas of what they’d like to see that day?

Dang. Now we'll have to hear "that voice" again. It's bad enough having to mute 🍊so often. Please #CBC don't give him more sound bites than anyone else, including members of the actual governing party, like you did the last few years. He's not only annoying he's aways so negative.

Lately in HRM I make sure that a driver approaching an intersection comes to a full stop before stepping out, even when at signalised crossings I have the light and they don't. In last couple of days this habit has saved me from injury or possibly death at least twice.
