This hit the same way as the question I ask my students and present to my editors weekly…

Whose future are we creating?
Whose progress are we constructing?
Who has a right to belong in the future, is intertwined to who has the right to the present and our accurate telling of the past.
A question for politicians and pundits who talk about the need for unity above all:

Whose unity are you trying to achieve, and whom are you sacrificing to achieve it?

Robert Redford playing a gentle incarnation of death, coming for a frightened old woman in The Twilight Zone episode "Nothing in the Dark" (1962). An extraordinary performance then, terribly bittersweet today

Notable that AI tools could not even generate accurate meeting summaries beyond “a couple hundred words.” That’s useless for minutes.

And for lit review they *completely* shit the bed.

But these aren’t people’s favorite tasks & AI is way quicker, so many will keep using them, truth be damned.
I Tested How Well AI Tools Work for Journalism
Some tools were sufficient for summarizing meetings. For research, the results were a disaster.

It's the way everyone hopscotches right over this for me.
A civil war is almost certainly going to target Black and brown people, and we know that because IT ALREADY IS.

Y’all don’t understand, refs and digital assets are disappearing daily or being buried by algorithms and AI… right now books and physical references are the only solid resources and many are costly or inaccessible. Months after getting solid references websites are now unreachable or just gone.
