For #FossilFriday & in honor of @alinemghilardi.bsky.social & colleagues' fantastic discovery of a new Cretaceous pterosaur in Brazil in a dinosaur regurgitalite ("fossil vomit"), here's a diagram I made for my book 'Dinosaurs Without Bones' (2014) showing the physics of a puking brachiosaur. 🧪🦕🤮🪨

This scene will haunt my dreams forever. Rest well, Rebekah. 🎤 🍂
Just now learning Rebekah Del Rio has suddenly and sadly passed on. Talk about film AND musical immortality in just one scene.

It’s the first day in weeeeeeks that I haven’t needed to extrovert, perform, or do external biddings.

Reading this gorgeous chap (my little book of domestic anxieties by Elizabeth Sylvia | ballerini book press) in the breeze. Whispering expletives in admiration and recognition.

A favorite protest sculpture / sign at #NoKings Fresno. Zoom in to the fly attached by a wire. 😂 The event felt peaceful, kind, joyous, moving. Something is definitely shifting in favor of constitutional rights.

I may not take this one out today (I have more / too identifying) but it felt cathartic to make it. Fist bump to all the other Geminis who deserve a better birthday twin. #NoKings

I made this list of Nonviolent Political Actions for Writers for a course I taught during TFG 1.0 on Writers & Resistance. Please share. You do not need to be a writer to participate.

Idk man but when the administration that tried to reject humanitarian aid for Los Angeles when it was burning tries to justify their illegal military occupation by saying they aren’t going to let LA burn it kinda sounds like bullshit

Proud of my nearby rangers. Right where everyone looks during firefall. NO to trashing national parks to set up plundering for lumber and oil. NO.
Brilliant protest. Yosemite National Park workers hung an upside-down American flag — traditionally a symbol of distress or a national threat — thousands of feet off the ground on the side of El Capitan.

I’m knee-deep in fabulous small press poetry arcs (2025). Scouting for more.
Good lord — corrected link: www.miriamgershow.com/100smallpress
This way lies hope.

I just counted it up and #100smallpress reviewers (17 days in) have requested and/or are reading *110* books from small presses. A hundred and ten!

I also got off my butt & made a waitlist form for interested future reviewers: www.miriamgershow.com/110smallpress

Netgalley declined my heavy-breathing request for an arc of The Antidote. 😭 Jealousy and anticipation for March release.
Opened the new Karen Russell novel, The Antidote, and it sucked me right in, even now I am trapped in its jaws. Not sure what it is about yet but I don't know that I care.

My Icelandic publishers office is on the ground floor in a residential neighbourhood where there are a lot of house cats. And many, many of the cats who live in neighbouring houses "work" at my publishers during the day, i.e. sleep and eat at home but spend 8 hours at their office during the week. 🧵
