The 15 year old girl who was dragged from her car by ICE had recently had kidney surgery.

This is why I say joy/hope are valid forms of defiance. There's as much anger here as with constant doom/brick-throwing rage, but it's expressed differently. Look at how many people are out there, taking action and being disruptive as a *community*. Amazing, tbh.
The US federal attack on Portland has resulted in the best advertisement for a city that I have ever seen. Round-the-clock joy, community solidarity and silliness that much of the West has lost and longs for.
