The hardest decision: Choosing residential care for my son
After years of caring for my son at home, I made the painful choice to move him into residential care. Medicaid made it possible — and remains essential.

The contract “requires that if AI technology is used for ‘newsgathering’ that it meet Politico’s ‘standards of journalists ethics and involve human oversight.’”

That was apparently violated.

You would think the council budget director saying, "We literally can't afford to pay [the water bill]," would be a bigger story?
City Unable to pay ~$5 million water bill and the proposed 2026 budget does not include enough money to cover the city's projected spending, let alone the overdue bills.

one thing about this is that in the wake of all of this kirk is basically forgotten. he was barely cold in the ground before his allies — before his *wife* — started scheming over what they could take for themselves. a real life parable.
New: Reuters has tallied job losses, suspensions and investigations stemming from the reaction to Charlie Kirk's Sept. 10 assassination. Its findings: More than 600 Americans have been punished, and the figure is likely to be an under-count.

I’m not sure what it says about me that YouTube was like, “I know it’s 5 am in Pittsburgh, but you should know that Lincolnshire County Council’s audit committee meeting is live,” but I thiiiiink it means I’m pretty cool and should probably get a hobby

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
