Great summary of the day by @peterlangdon.bsky.social It felt like it was one of those talks that resonated with a lot of people. Lots of break time discussion about recruitment, ethics, gatekeepers and funding. So much energy and desire for improvement gives me a kick up the bum to keep going!

How should you respond to a regime that has disregard for health and wellbeing, ignores the central role of inequalities in poor health outcomes, and believes science and scholarship to be enemies of progress?

Great write up at @thetransmitter.bsky.social on the seeming erasure of SABV in the new era of NIH. Gotta say The Transmitter is killing it the last few weeks, first to report on the Federal Register block and now this. Leading the charge! 💪 www.thetransmitter.org/policy/exclu...
Exclusive: NIH appears to archive policy requiring female animals in studies
Such a shift would “put us back in the dark ages in terms of our science,” says neuroscientist Anne Murphy, who helped to formulate the original policy.

This is just so cruel. My wife works at a school attended by many kids with disabilities, and one of my daughters is neurodivergent. I am at a loss for words. This state just keeps disappointing me.

Wars accelerate AMR by disrupting healthcare, increasing antibiotic misuse, and poor sanitation. Combating this requires rebuilding healthcare systems, regulating antibiotic use, improving sanitation, and ensuring access to vaccines and clean water.
