Just finished watching another librarian cult classic Desk Set (1957). A new Christmas movie to watch at this years holiday season.
Movie Review: Desk Set (1957)
Still from Desk Set Another librarian cult classic movie. And another movie that is recommended by other library workers. Like Party Girl Desk Set is seen as must watch. It is always interesting seeing a knowledge and information in another sector and from the past. The movie is based a play of the same name. While the movie is almost seventy years old many of the themes that it brings up are still around today.

To finish off the spooky season into the winter season I have just finished this cosy murder mystery The Village Demon-Hunting Society by C.M. Waggoner. A Librarian who solves murders and a talking cat what more could you ask for. Get a copy from https://uk.bookshop.org/a/1779/9781804952382

With each story you can see in the world of a public library. It is nice to read from the point of view of a librarian. With all the good and bad of working in a public UK library.

Regional Office for Europe Published date: 17 November 2024 Article type: Policy Brief Short Review  This policy brief is a paper that all that work in healthcare should read. Something as simple of a letter can affect a patient's interaction with health care. For some context, letters are some of the most difficult to update and make changes to.

After being recommended this movie over the last few years I final watch the Library Cult Classic Party Girl (1995) and loved it.
Movie Title: Party Girl
Date of Release: 1995 Review: I was drawn to this movie mainly due to the number of other librarians that highly praise this movie. I was so happy that I did watch this movie. I was scrolling though Plex (a free app and website) and saw that they had the movie available to watch for free. I have to say that I can see why Librarians love this movie.

Photo by Anna Tarazevich on Pexels.com Written: 10/09/2025 I really do not want this blog to be political, but this is a story that I have been thinking about recently from back when I was working at Bloomsbury Healthcare Library and we can connect it to things that have happen recently. How did we go from London 2012 in which a national welcomed people from all over the world to 2016 Brexit and today 2025?

NHS Sustainability Awareness Webinar Wednesday 9th July 2025
Photo by Akil Mazumder on Pexels.com I signed onto this webinar as soon as I read the blurb that was on the ACCENT website. I decided to go to get a better understanding for how other libraries are working on sustainability and climate change. It sounded interesting. This week I was covering West on Wednesday and Thursday, so I was able sit the hour in the library office on Wednesday between 11am to 12pm.

I set my alarm and tried to get some sleep the night before. I had a couple of days before walked the route I would take from Kings Cross on Google maps.
