Jake Tapper would have driven to the White House with a gun if Biden had said this
O'DONNELL: Why did you pardon Changpeng Zhao?

TRUMP: Are you ready? I don't know who he is

O'DONNELL: His crypto exchange Binance helped facilitate a $2b purchase of World Liberty Financial's stablecoin. And they you pardoned him.

TRUMP: Here's the thing -- I know nothing about it

As usual, President Nixon will welcome costumed children to his home from 5-9 p.m. on October 31. Every costumed child will receive a can of soda, a candy bar of their choice, and a signed card. - RZ

2025, when a news org having reporters in the thick of the places where news is happening is "remote work" and frowned upon
imagine laying off a politics reporter based in portland oregon in the year 2025
2. Rolling Stone is owned by a large media conglomerate, which is ending remote work across its brands.

My home is Portland, Oregon, ~1,000 miles from the nearest office, so this marks the end of the line for me at RS.

My semi-regular Columbus Day message:

Columbus wasn’t called crazy because he thought the world was round. That had been known for 1000 years.

He was called crazy because he thought it was so small he could reach India by going west. And they were right! He was a delusional fool!

But lucky.

yeah this is child abuse sorry
Some parents are letting their kids talk to ChatGPT in the guise of characters. Some are using it to tell bedtime stories or create coloring books.

"My son thinks ChatGPT is the coolest train loving person in the world. The bar is set so high now I am never going to be able to compete with that.”
‘My son genuinely believed it was real’: Parents are letting little kids play with AI. Are they wrong?
Some believe AI can spark their child’s imagination through personalized stories and generative images. Scientists are wary of its affect on creativity

One of these rich dudes invested in a food company with all proceeds going to kids in need. The other started Sundance Institute, boosting the lives of countless artists. Hey modern rich dudes, don't be a typical greedy AI crypto-prick, be like these two.

Jim Henson is high on Genius Mountain with Bowie & very few others - besides being great, uncompromising artists, they always made other talented people surpass themselves
Every night before bed I sing "Rainbow Connection" for my daughter, and after hundreds of singings, I still think that Paul Williams was touched by a higher power when he wrote those lyrics.

I just watched the #Archer finale, where the plot involved rogue spies' complex plan to restart the Cold War. But look how easy it was in real life!

"Ghostbusters" exists as a song in the movie universe, but I guess I don't know if it was a hit.
youtu.be/eYGGZV-JqvI?...
There's a small genre of song that's like "song created for a movie that is supposed to be a hit song within the fictional world of the movie."

Have any been actual good-enough-to-be-hits besides "Golden" and "I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow?"

Reminder that the actor's real name is an even better name for the ghost of a dead Eastern European sorcerer than what the writers came up with.

It's also Jack Kirby's birthday. The word genius is one that’s often overused, but if the comic book business has ever produced a genius, Kirby was it. Happy Birthday, Jack. Hope you're having fun sailing across Creation on your surfboard of imagination. And thank you for all you've given us.

Once again, a hurricane is giving me reporter FOMO. It's not because I think it's fun or cool to experience something that can ruin lives. It's that it's a huge event that takes over the news cycle, and it takes for-fucking-ever to be done.

If you're using AI to write essays, eulogies, a text to your wife, I do think less of you as a person. Ceding your mental and creative abilities to a machine is an embarrassing thing and people should be ashamed to admit doing it in public.
