Never forget the same people defending pedophilia have spent years trying to convince the public that drag queens and trans people are a threat to children.

It’s all smoke and mirrors to allow the real predators to roam free.

Why aren't we collectively punching these Nazis?

It's always OK to punch Nazis because, you know, they are Nazis

Civil engineer identified among those who attended Neo-Nazi protest
Around 60 men attended a protest at NSW parliament organised by the Neo-Nazi group National Socialist Network on Saturday. Without masks, it gave the ABC the opportunity to identify some of them.

Hi everyone, my sweet little dog had a really gruesome freak accident yesterday. Survived it pretty miraculously, but my partner and I are broke and facing new medical debt in order to make that possible. Any help would mean a great deal 🖤🙏

Today, watching the lecture Linguistic Diversity and Social Participation with Prof. Dr. Ingrid Piller. It’s inspiring to see where this work had led to not only the creation of responsible research communities but has also generated impact on the lives of participant and language perception.

Utter bullshit. Not a single AI-related tool integrated into my workflow has made it more efficient. I have two sets of skills - technical expertise and soft skills - and GenAI is incapable of emulating either of them. In the meantime, they have been PREVENTING US from using time-tested forms of
If we don't integrate AI and automation into daily tasks, future workplaces may become increasingly inefficient. Embracing tech can streamline processes. #futurism
This is bizarre. I've used word processors in the 80s with mail merge; it's 2025 and I'm MANUALLY DOING THIS and it is soooo frustrating.

Meanwhile yet another email from ⬆️ talking about our aspiration to become a leader in the tech of the future. JUST LET ME USE TECH FROM THE PAST.

"What Would Feynman Do?" is a fucking terrible ethical maxim. Feynman was a repulsive misogynist and a creep.

Which seems to be very much what I'd expect from Krauss.

Argh rather than trying to trick us into using GenAI to "streamline" our processes, THE UNI COULD JUST GIVE ME ACCESS TO BULK EMAILING IN THE CRM. I'm not allowed to use it for this particular task for "security" reasons, but in the meantime I have 400 form emails I have to send to students, and I

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

It's 2025 and still there are people who apparently feel comfortable making top-10 lists of "greatest male x" but forgetting to specify "male". (In this case, x was "AI linguists" which I think meant "linguists whose work you might care about if you're trying to build 'AI'".)

While I get what people mean when they say “but it is not covert!” the fact that a lecturer could get removed from teaching a course for making the claim shows that MAGA is able to promote white supremacy while clutching its pearls when called out for it so maybe covert is a productive term here
Indiana University removed a Lecturer from her "Diversity, Human Rights, and Social Justice" course after a student filed a complaint about a graphic the instructor showed in class, which included "Make America Great Again" as an example of "Covert White Supremacy."

Which I've been 100% convinced from day one is behind Australia's Labor Government's decision to block social media for anyone under 16.
removing a trans person's connection to the internet is an act of deliberate social isolation with intent to 'convert' and everyone knows it

This pisses me off for a LOT of reasons, but also because they're not even mutually exclusive skills. I OWE much of my social emotional growth (such as it is) to mathematician and mathematician-adjacent friends + as an educator, I believe social and emotional skills are BENEFICIAL to maths learning.
I think the belief by the powerful that "people will put up with many things if you are excellent at math" is incredibly revealing in terms of understanding How We Got Here
