As a Canadian I still have access to TikTok and will describe what's happening there for the low low price of $10.00CAD per minute.

Periodic reminder that two things (and indeed more than two things!) can be bad at the same time.

Sorry for all the posts guys I’m just shocked more people aren’t upset 😭 #tiktok
January 19, 2025 at 4:42 AM
We just got our one source of raw, unfiltered information from other people from other countries taken away from us 😭 #tiktok

“It’s just TikTok”
No it’s not just TikTok! It’s just the beginning actually! They can now ban apps that they deem “unsafe” for any reason

RIP TikTok. The ultimate example of the olds not getting it.

It is especially ironic that we're freaking out about a foreign owned social network when we're letting untrustworthy figures straight through the door over here

Still astounded how people think that the government force-closing a social network that's literally used by 170 million people in the US is just fine or even good.

It would not surprise me if they go after VPNs next.

They tried this already: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RESTRIC...

When are we going to wake up and realize that all politicians are on the same side 😭 There’s no such thing as “Republicans vs Democrats”, it’s THEM vs US

How’s the government going to tell me what apps I can use on my own phone bc it’s a “security risk” and then let Muskrat and Zuckerfuck sell my data 😭

There is so much more to be said, and so many more voices to listen to, and there ARE we can do. We cannot let our rights get taken away. We cannot let our voices be silenced. We are a DEMOCRACY. A government for the people, by the people. We need to use our voices. (part 13) #tiktok
January 19, 2025 at 4:04 AM
The wealthy know that if we can come together, we will demand equality. They can't stop us if we act. If we hold onto platforms that give us voices.
It's not just about TikTok. It's about us. It's about our freedom. (Part 12) #tiktok
January 19, 2025 at 4:03 AM
If we educate ourselves, unite, and REFUSE to be divided, we can challenge the system. And just to be clear - our government HAS divided us (and successfully | fear) since the 1970's. And we've fallen victim to it over and over again. Because it we are divided, we cannot unite. (Part 11) #tiktok
January 19, 2025 at 4:02 AM
This is bigger than TikTok. This is about our freedom of speech, our rights to connect with others, share our truths, and question authority. If they ban TT what's next? What else can they start banning they deem "unsafe" just because they can? What other voices will they start to silence?
Pt 10
January 19, 2025 at 4:02 AM
It's about protecting their control over what we see and hear. It's make us humanize people from other countries that we are taught are the enemy. They want to shut down an app the unites people across boundaries, races, and beliefs (Part 9) #tiktok
January 19, 2025 at 4:00 AM
Banning TikTok isn't about "security concerns".
Because they don't care when THEY are the ones invading our privacy. It's about taking away the one thing that 170million+ of us have found that brings us together in a way that nothing ever had before. (Part 8) #tiktok
January 19, 2025 at 4:00 AM
When we talk about things openly and are able to share ideas and organize we become POWERFUL.We become dangerous to those at the top, because when we come together as a collective we are far more powerful than they are. They know that if we understand the extent of their control we can demand change
January 19, 2025 at 3:59 AM
We could make friends from all over the world, and we started being able to upload videos talking about things the mainstream media wasn't talking about. It's an app that lets us speak FREELY. Raw and unfiltered. And that kind of things is terrifying for the elites. (Part 6) #tiktok
January 19, 2025 at 3:59 AM
And then there's TikTok. It started off as an app that people used for cute dancing videos/trends, and a place where people could share their recipes. But the more popular it grew, and the more fucked up things started happening in the world - the closer our TikTok community grew. (Pt 5) #tiktok
January 19, 2025 at 3:58 AM
If they keep us distracted we have no way of knowing what's really going on in the world, and knowing how bad things really are aside from what they show us on the media that THEY have control of. They make BILLIONS off of us through our data. (Pt 4) #tiktok
January 19, 2025 at 3:58 AM
Why do this? Because our data is like a goldmine. They use it to sell us ads, and in some cases hand it over to our governments. They use it so they can predict trends, and so that they can stay ahead of us in the way of keeping us right where they want us - docile, and distracted. (Pt 3) #tiktok
