Why is #GlobalWarming fundamentally a "rate of change" problem? It's happening very fast relative to most natural episodes of climate warming and cooling on Earth, and too quickly for ecosystems & societies to easily adapt. Therein lies the problem. www.youtube.com/watc...
Why is global warming a "rate of change" problem? It's happening too quickly for us to easily adapt.
The main reason why global warming is such a big problem is that it's happening extremely rapidly in a geological context--much faster than most other natural warming and cooling events in Earth history. The climate is now warming so quickly, in fact, that it's becoming increasingly difficult for bo

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

We now have a concentration camp in Florida.

Stop pretending any of this is normal.

If you claim to be a good person and you're not outwardly opposing this regime, you're not a good person.

Will Trump force America to break up?
He seems determined to try.

A minority of voters elected the presidents and the senators that confirmed 5/9 judges currently on the Supreme Court. That group — all nominated by Republican presidents — is now deciding cases disproportionately in favor of a Republican Executive overstepping his constitutional powers. Seems bad!

The left better start figuring out how to weaponize today's decision rather than just (rightfully) criticizing it.

- Go back into Judge Kaczmaryk's court to dissolve all of his nationwide orders.

- Pass gun bans and insist any order applies only to plaintiffs.

Veteran photographer Michael Nigro was shot in the head with a non-lethal bullet while covering anti-ICE protests in LA. "It felt very very intentional," Nigro tells NPR, "a chilling effect to convince us to go away."

Other reporters say they have been targeted too.

Based on crowd-sourced records of No Kings Day event turnout, and extrapolating for the cities where we don't have data yet, it looks like roughly 4-6 million people protested Trump across the U.S. yesterday. That's nearly 2% of the U.S. pop!

Mobilized anti-Trump resistance is exceeding 2017 levels
"No Kings Day" protests turn out millions
Our unofficial estimate is that around 4 million people attended a protest event yesterday. Anti-Trump resistance is outpacing 2017.

It's not really a principle if you only adhere to it when it's politically expedient.
