People say the Pogonia ophioglossoides smells like raspberries, but I thought it smelled just like roses. Maybe some kind of olfactory illusion based on the common name, (Rose Pogonia) and also having sniffed a bunch of roses earlier in the day, though.

unfortunately climate change has reduced the rubicon to a wading pool and now everyone is just splashing back and forth across it like toddlers about to get cryptosporidiosis at the water park

clasp your hands together
thrust your pointer fingers out
draw angry eyes on your thumbs (ask friend for help).

your finger bird is probably still too big to be the least bittern.
the least bittern is so small. as small as you might imagine it, it is smaller. 🪶

The other day, I stopped to check out the powdery mildew on my neighbor’s japanese euonymus and found an even more exciting plant pathogen on their black cherry 🍄✨🍄‍🟫

Some of the details are specific to Amsterdam, but the horrors are universal and familiar from any of the many other housing-crisis-afflicted cities I have rented in. Def recommend if you want to Feel It from New York, or SF, or Boston, or London, or…
I made a short game about trying to find an apartment in Amsterdam, and the horror of architecture in a city that mistakes freedom for abundance.

It draws on my own desperate housing crisis in 2022 and 2024. There's a demo, and I'd love to hear what you think: krishraghav.itch.io/dont-get-you...

Inspired by @prisonculture.bsky.social on the virtues of flyering at protests, I adapted some flyers from @alomalo.co to hand out at the protest in support of Mahmoud Khalil. Posting to share with others!

“We urge the administration to reverse course” great, but also enough of your members are paid through federal funds that you’re going to sue, right?

If you are feeling overwhelmed, I strongly recommend the livestream of the corpse flower at Sydney Botanic Gardens on YouTube. There are currently 1,500 people in chat waiting for a flower to open, and occasionally claiming that it definitely has moved this time.

Apple really missed an opportunity to fill their subterranean contemplative space with reminders of their role in conflict mineral trade, imo:
