#PharmacyTechnicians If you work in community pharmacy in England it’s important that you read and understand today’s announcement on the outcome of the funding negotiations as there are implications for the role of pharmacy technicians. This is a good place to start.

Education & training is important especially in #healthcare

A Navy SEAL was asked, "why do you train in such extreme conditions?"

He replied “Under pressure you don’t rise to the occasion, you sink to the level of your #training. That’s why we train so hard.”

This is so needed. When my Dad was in his last few months and pinging in and out of hospital I had to pretty much create a vigil to make sure he got his Parkinson’s meds on time. One nurse said to me I have so many alarms set for your Dad I can’t possibly respond to them all.
People with Parkinson's need their meds on time, every time

What would your dream health policy x the arts collab be? Mine is with Grayson Perry. I've been thinking about ways that artists can bring radical thinking into health and care policy in my @thekingsfund.bsky.social blog - let me know what you think www.kingsfund.org.uk/insight-and-...

Very interesting article
This highlights a key issue for the 10 Yr Health Plan to consider, the very real trade-off between funding expensive new drugs vs investment in existing services and prevention / public health.
Some quick calculations on the cost (£) of one 'additional year of good health' for comparison:

1. NHS spend on new drugs 2000-2020: ~£20,000
2. Existing NHS services: ~£15,000
3. Public health interventions (& wider determinants): ~£3,800

I’ve been amazed by how quickly I’ve amassed followers here but for most of them I don’t know the reason because there either is no associated bio or the person’s ‘handle’ doesn’t tell me who they are. That’s not conducive to effective networking. Let’s make our connections meaningful.

Then let’s hope the people who vote really think about the potential unintended consequences of this strategy.
I’m not sure it could be ‘formally’ enabled by RPS at present, any change to the Charter has to be authorised by a large majority members. I think they’re primarily sounding out members but also including others who want to ask questions
