Can’t decide what to buy on Prime Day?

Try: absolutely nothing, and then go support indie bookstores instead 📚

Having a lovely time at Ty Newydd, Literature Wales's writing centre in Llanystumdwy, Gwynedd. Lovely tutees, lovely fellow tutor @vaseemkhanuk.bsky.social & beautiful surroundings. This is the path down to the most important part of the whole centre - the kitchen and hall where everything happens!

Great time in Bath @mrbsemporium.bsky.social yesterday when I dropped in with a proof of The Hunters Club and was asked to contribute to their display of authors' pens hanging from the ceiling. If you're in Bath, do pay Mr B's a visit - the booksellers are friendly and incredibly knowledgeable!

In-between the review books, I've been reading @alishawkinsauthor.bsky.social first Oxford mystery.
A most intriguing story with fascinating characters that kept me guessing until the end.
I've really enjoyed it and now must get my skates on as book three comes out in October! 📚

Had a lovely time in Alnwick on Monday visiting @forumbookscorbridge's sister shop, The Accidental Bookshop - such a lovely shop with a great backstory. (You'll have to visit and ask...)
And while I was there, it would have been rude not to offer Helen a proof copy of The Hunters Club, wouldn't it?

I had a great time talking to the lovely Robert Kirkwood for the the audiobook show Read On. We talked about about writing, my visually impaired protagonist in the Teifi Valley Coroner books, the Skeleton Army vs. the Salvation Army in 1882 Oxford, my writing method, and three very important books.

Exciting news! The Hunters Club has been chosen by Waterstones as one of their summer offers! You can now get 25% off the cover price if you preorder before the end of July.

I'd be really grateful for any pre-orders - they make all the difference to authors!

At a recent event with my Crime Cymru pal and fellow historical crime author @chrislloydauthor.bsky.social we were asked whether it's ok to get in touch with a writer to tell them you've enjoyed their book or whether it's a pain because then you have to reply.
Easy answer PLEASE BE IN TOUCH!!

Having a bar running down the middle of a bookshop would, surely, make it the ideal space to hang out? Now ever so slightly wishing I lived in Balham...

Glorious time chairing an event with @fflurdafydd.bsky.social and Caryl Lewis last night at Bookish bookshop in Crickhowell. The House of Water and Bitter Honey are two of the most beautiful, emotionally charged and page-turning books you're likely to read this year.

Music to an author's ears! Hope you enjoy it, Cavan (and I hope you're feeling better really soon).
Feeling a little under the weather so settling in for an afternoon reading with this as my soundtrack.

There will be tea!
