Minnesotan in the Emerald Triangle, far from the land of my people. Former data analyst, former pot farmer, current wreck.
I've had white in my hair and beard for decades, no big deal. But I just found my first white chest hair and this is just too much to deal with.

This is how I know anyone objecting to trans athletes isn't actually concerned about fairness of competition. No one is talking about trans-men. And there are plenty of cis-women athletes who could or should compete with men.
Top-level professional athletes are all biological freaks--they have larger lungs, their blood is better at carrying oxygen, their muscles are more efficient, whatever. I'll never be a professional cyclist, because my body will never be able to compete no matter how hard I train.

I first started playing DragonRealms (a high fantasy MUD) in its first year, 1996. Have played off and on in the intervening years, most recently about 4 or 5 years ago. Playing again on a free-to-play account and currently a level 5 paladin if anyone else out there plays or would like to start.

Oh my God this fucking headline.

Removing the dam and erasing Lake Pillsbury will restore the Russian River *back to its natural state*. The water diversion is unnatural and has completely changed the Eel River for the worse. Sick of Mendocino and Sonoma thinking the water is theirs by right.
PG&E submits plan that will erase Lake Pillsbury and change the Russian River forever - MendoFever – Mendocino County News
The July 25 filing outlines dam removal timelines, restoration goals, and unavoidable economic and environmental impacts, as well as the proposed construction of a new diversion facility.

As a rule I don't bring a person's looks into an argument, but Kristi Noem always makes me think about getting a blowjob from a mannequin and I can't help it.

The fundamental aim of the American white supremacist movement since the 1980s has been to block sharing of any national resources with anyone and everyone who doesn’t adhere to the white supremacist ideal. MAGA has done more to accomplish this goal than any group or individual since Jim Crow

At this point 50% of my FB feed is comprised of entirely made up shit like this. I'm a historian who studies politics and media, so it's easy for me to be a critical consumer of this schlock. But for the average consumer, this sort of social media is like putting a stick blender in one's brain.
None of this happened, none of these pictures are real, AI slop like this makes the world dumber and worse and the companies peddling it 24/7 are destroying civilization.

Trump fired the head of the Bureau of Labor statisti s. This is the end of being able to trust the data from the federal government on employment, GDP, or any other critical information. They will only want to produce information that pleases Trump, not the truth. This is how you get a failed state.

Even if you did include all the shows mentioned below, the answer would still be The Twilight Zone.
Take away all the GOAT candidates: The Wire, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Lost.

What’s the best show outside of that group?

I actually have no idea where I'm going to go or how much, if any, money I'm going to have to get there. Starting to get a little worried about winding up homeless.
I got screwed when I bought this farm. The seller failed to disclose a whole bunch of shit that impacted my ability to operate legally, not to mention they represented themselves as a legitimate business when in fact they were selling everything black market. 🧵

It's nice that the photo of the South Fork of the Eel River they used in this article was taken in the fall or spring. In the summer the Eel is nearly dry.
Saw this in a post from someone lamenting the economic impacts to the Sonoma vineyards due to not being able to irrigate.

To which I say, "Oh well."

Seriously, if your business depends on environmental devastation, your business sucks.

Oh my god...now I'm imagining if Tim Robbins character in High Fidelity came into the store singing "Oh she may get wooly, women do get wooly, because of all the stress..."
I just want to dress cool, work in a record store with an annoyed disposition and a searing RBF, while a cute guy busts through the door belting out “GOT-AH GOT-AH TRY A LITTLE TENDERNESS”

Sigh.
