The National Guard needs to have a babysitter, so they don't get hurt. This is not what National Guard Members signed up for, yet here we are today. They are being forced to act as police officers. The starting pay for DC cops is 80K, Guard Members start pay: 24K or LESS!

DC police may pair up with National Guard members after shooting near White House - WTOP News
Days after the fatal shooting of a National Guard member, D.C. police are working with agencies to figure out how to support the guard deployment moving forward.

With DC shooter now identified as an Afghan national not the antifa secret agent White House hoped for a good time to remember the Trump admin has gutted domestic anti-terrorism capacity and reassigned many to finding grandmothers to arrest at immigration hearings.

*Such* a pit in my stomach about the Georgia case. Such a wasted possibility. It's hard to avoid simultaneously crediting Willis for a strong, convincing, aggressive, and important set of indictments, and blaming her for the catastrophic misjudgment that made it impossible to have a trial in 2024.

it's WEIRD, but the grand jury *did* approve the remaining charges in the replacement indictment so it's not as if it was entirely fictitious. i hope this blows up in bondi/halligan's face but i'm not as confident as a lot of people that it will. This is the Judicial Mulligan Administration.

Oh they don’t like the whistles? Hey everyone, they don’t like the whistles. If you use them it makes the armed goons sad.
Kristi Noem is mad that protesters are blowing whistles at ICE agents.

I cannot overemphasize that Marjorie Taylor Greene, Carlson, and Fuentes see a 2028 path to victory that involves building an isolationist populist coalition that traffics heavily in antisemitism and exploits existing negative sentiment against Israel.

We have to be SHARP on the left right now.

Truly wild for Mamdani to have been treated as a plague carrier by the New York Democratic Establishment, but to have the same kind of Moderation Enjoyers hugging the antisemitic space laser representative because she's making some kind of selfish power play.

Here's your chance to do something about the people being starved and beaten in Broadview ICE custody.

Share this post, and I'll donate $1 to the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund (www.mibfc.org).

And if you make a donation to them, let me know how much and I'll match it 1:1.

#NewYorkCity! We have a new, reliable, multi-organization coalition hotline for reporting ICE activity! It will be live on Saturday, November 15th.

I will be handing them out on the 15th as part of the NYC Day of Action.

Any Democratic senator, at any moment, could've derailed this by calling for Schumer's replacement and casting their colleagues as MAGA collaborators, thereby shifting the Overton window. But they're all in on it. This was always a team effort.

@durbin.senate.gov is a soulless sellout. I dare him to walk through a Chicago suburb and tell his constituents who are fighting for their neighbors that he had to help Trump reopen the government.

Either way, so many Dems... the bulk of the Senate caucus, House leadership, governors, etc.,... all quickly throwing down the gauntlet with such open unrestrained attacks on any Dems who cave is new. It wasn't like that in March, not nearly as loud and widespread and immediate, much more base-only.

Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

Teaching the Trump administration that disrupting air travel gets them what they want would be a bad idea. They’d pull that lever again.

This “deal” is an empty promise and a betrayal to the millions of Americans currently seeing a shutdown of their health care.

I’m a HELL NO if it comes to the House. And I encourage my Senate Democratic colleagues to stand strong and continue fighting to protect the ACA tax credits.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

"Judge rules Trump administration prohibited the free exercise of religion" is a blockbuster, click-generating (and 100% true!) headline that I wonder if we'll see anywhere in the coming day
Ellis rules that the Trump administration impermissibly prevented the free exercise of religion, in violation of the First Amendment.
Those engaged in prayer have been shot, without warning, with pepper balls and tear gas, Ellis says.

I've seen this go by a few times on TikTok now and I have to say, I love this idea. We need a way to convince people to keep running even if they don't win, maybe building the loss into it as a troll move is the secret.
