this is targeted erasure and will have very real and very many negative consequences
The CDC will no longer process transgender identity data in order to comply with Trump’s executive order, an agency rep told me today. This has immediate implications for the YRBS — the only nationally-representative source of data on trans youth — and more. www.statnews.com/2025/02/25/c...

The agency's decision will likely affect a number of federal health surveillance systems that serve as critical resources for researchers.

Print it, bookmark it, pause what you are doing. Whatever you do, prioritize reading this. And then share it. In meetings, on your office door, during office small talk.

It’s a crystal clear piece that leaves no question about the essential work we must do in higher education.
New op-ed out today! "We believe this rush to comply is a sign that universities are willing to become an institutional wing of the new segregationists."

This op-ed was written with fierce love for our communities. That's who we serve. We will not be erased.

There is nothing wasteful or unnecessary about funding education for disabled students.

Disabled people are worthy.
Disabled people have value.
Disabled people deserve an accessible, supportive, and fully funded education.

This commission statement refers to people with Autism, ADHD, asthma, auto-immune disease, and chronic illness as a “dire threat to the American people and our way of life”.

This is a manifesto against disability.

This is the language of eugenics.

There's so much for us to fight for right now. It's devastating, exhausting, and it's also possible. We can't forget past and present organizers who have always been fighting for justice.

They have always shown us that collective resistance works. Let's do this, but never alone. ❤️

1. Breaking News: Donald Trump has signed an executive order targeting trans youth and teachers in schools who teach for them.

It goes after "social transition" and threatens arrests.

I will go through line by line, as I have the last 3 nights.

This is heartbreaking to read.

Disabled people are a part of every community.
Disabled people are not disposable.
Disabled people are worthy and deserve to live.
A 67 year old amputee and wheelchair user lived with his son who had cerebral palsy.

They were killed in the Eaton fire while waiting for an ambulance that never arrived.

Many disabled people can not evacuate on their own. They need to be included in evacuation plans (yet almost never are)

We found that -- at current rate of change -- the SET workforce will NEVER be ethnoracially representative of the population of students w/disabilities.
